Do you know one thing I love about this season? Mangoes! I am such a crazy mango lover Oh yeah! Crazier than you! It’s actually difficult for me to decide not to eat a mango but use it on my skin. But with a heavy heart I decided to do it just for you guys (such a drama queen I am :P) As you have already guessed I am going to share the recipe for a homemade body scrub body scrub (Oh yeah genius, I know it’s obvious from my title :D) one which might leave all mango lovers drool and not want to get out of the shower plus there is also a chance of sniffing your skin as long as the smell stays. Convinced? Now please read further to know more about this homemade body scrub and as always it’s easy.
Before we get started let’s learn why mangoes are great for your skin.
Benefits of mangoes on skin
Mangoes not only taste good it has some really amazing benefits too. Below I have listed a few benefits of mangoes on skin.
Mangoes contain high amounts of anti-oxidants and phytochemicals, which help to protect the body from the damage that can be caused by free radicals for younger looking skin.
Today I am up with a new review, a lipstick review oh yeah!another liquid lipstick. There are millions of liquid lipsticks out there each claiming to be the best. Liquid lipsticks are great but every liquid lipstick is different and it is not easy to find the best one. My review today is about The Balm Meet Matte Hughes liquid lipsticks. Please read further to know what I think about them.
Price and availability
$29 for the 6 piece set of 1.2ml, $17 for individual lipstick 7.2g. Available at The Balm stores, online, Sephora. Available in 18 shades.
My experience with The Balm Meet Matte Hughes
I own the six piece mini set which contains six shades (obviously :D) which are each 1.2ml miniature of the original which is 7.2g. The Balm Meet Matte Hughes comes in a transparent tube with a silver cap, that retro style packaging which all The Balm products are known for. The names are written at the bottom. The packaging is quite sturdy. The cap is a twist open type and stays tightly shut. Definitely a travel-friendly packaging.
The applicator is is okay, not something that’s as good as Mac Retro Matte but still okay. Application will not be an issue but the applicator picks too much product than what is required as it is quite fluffy. Speaking about the scent, The Balm Meet Matte Hughes has a peppermint scent, which I like, it fades very quickly though. The reason for this scent is because it contains peppermint oil which is used for plumping effect of lips. Due to this reason there is a very very mild tingling when you apply this lipstick which immediately goes.
I really love the formula of this lipstick, very thin, you hardly know it’s there but pigmented at the same time. Just one coat and you are left with an opaque layer with no patchiness at all. And that too only a very smallamount of product is required for a full coverage even for pigmented lips. Dries quickly and very comfortable to wear.
It claims to be moisturising and all but honestly speaking I have never found any liquid lipstick to be moisturising. But this one didn’t make my lips extra dry and that just makes me happy. I always exfoliate and moisturise my lips before applying any lipstick. Since this gives a matte finish, I wipe off any excess lip balm before applying. And yes, this gives a true matte finish.
The best part is yet to come. Even after eating and drinking the lipstick remained intact, unless I go for some oily foods. Some shades fade a little, but nothing noticeable. I think the problem comes when you decide to touch up. When you do so, for a few minutes your lips feel heavy and dry. But after some time that feeling goes away.
The staying power is also amazing. Most shades stays put for 6+ hours even without using lip liners. I have found that some shades might fade a little fast but 5+ hours are guaranteed. Fades gracefullyand not patchy at all so there will probably be no need for touch-ups.
The shades in my set are Charming, which is beautiful mauve, Sincere which is mauve itself but a little bit lighter than Charming, Committed a dusky pinkish nude, Doting which is an orangey coral,Dedicated which is Magenta and Loyal which is a bright true red.
Swatches of The Balm meet matte Hughes
In love with:
Cruelty free, Vegan.
Application easy to control.
Very opaque and not at all patchy.
No bleeding or smudging.
Comfortable to wear.
Does not make lips dry.
Does not stain my coffee mug.
Not in love with:
Some shades settle into the lines of the lips.
Touching up is not a good idea as it might leave your lips dry.
Some might not like the peppermint scent and the tingling sensation. But the tingling is very very mild.
Applicator holds a lot of product.
Overall I think The Balm Meet Matte Hughes is a really good liquid lipstick. The cons that I have mentioned are not a big issue at least for me as i am totally fine with the peppermint scent. Touching up will not be an issue since this lipstick stays all day. I wouldn’t say this is the best liquid lipstick available, but this is definitely one of the best. You can either get the miniature set or get the full size if you prefer just one shade. I rate it 4.5/5 and I think this is something you must try.
Have you used the Balm Meet Matte Hughes? Which is your favourite shade?
Hello my beautiful friends,How are you guys doing?
When it comes to hair, I always had dry and damaged hair. It is just recently that my hair started getting better and that’s because I have started taking real care of it. I take care when using products on my hair too. Today I am up with a review and I am reviewing a new range of shampoos inspired by natural Arab remedies and I am talking about Pert shampoos. I have got the chance to review three out of the 8 available. So let’s get started with the review.
Today I am going to review
Anti-dandruff with coconut and lime
Anti- hair fall with ginger extracts
For damaged hair with chamomile extracts
Smooth hair opens the door to a better tomorrow. When it comes to choosing a shampoo, women want quick and smart products that would give them that fresh ‘salon look’ without having to spend a fortune. Now, thanks to PERT’s new range of shampoos, smooth and manageable hair is accessible to all. Present in the GCC market for over 30 years, PERT has finally perfected a range of products that bottles the region’s traditional wisdom and natural remedies. With PERT, smooth hair is a guaranteed end benefit without the fuss of traditional Arab remedies – their professional formula ensures your hair remains healthy thanks to their all natural ingredients and remedies that women have been using for centuries. The products are simple to use in just one easy step, making it the smart choice that gives you all the value for your money.
The 8 shampoos available are:
Coconut & Lime:Anti-Dandruff – Coconut has properties that are anti bacterial and which offer nourishment for the scalp while adding shine. The formula conditions deep down, helping fight visible dandruff flakes from your hair.
Henna:For Strong Hair – Henna leaves promote hair growth and thus strong hair. Additionally, henna adds shine and volume to your hair while preventing it from greying and thinning,
Mandarin:For Greasy Hair – Mandarin has proteins which help the hair from getting oily. The natural ingredients protect the hair, giving you a healthy and smooth look for longer.
Olive Oil:For Dry Hair – Olive oil helps in moisture which make hair shiny and healthy. Rich in vitamins A, E and antioxidants, olive oil replaces the extra silicone ingredients used in conditioners and helps make hair more manageable.
Oil Extracts:To Nourish Hair – The oil extracts provide overall nourishment to hair by preventing dry, itchy and flaky scalps while adding sheen and lustre to hair. The oils also maintain the hair’s natural texture while adding smoothness and strength to reduce breakage.
Chamomile:For Damaged Hair – Not only does chamomile help sooth scalp irritation and nourish the hair, it also adds shine and glow to dull and dry hair. Mainly with dyed hair, chamomile is gentle and soothes damaged hair.
Ginger:Anti Hair Fall – Ginger provides vitamins to the hair, helping in hair growth and hair strengthening for less hair fall. Additionally, the ginger enhances the hair’s natural lustrous shine.
Honey:For Normal Hair – Honey provides healthy benefits by coating damaged hair with a protective layer, attracting moisture and feeding the hair follicles.
Price and availability
200ml – 6.75AED; 400ml – 12.75AED; 700ml – 17.25AED. Available on all supermarkets across GCC.
My review of the Pert shampoos
Even though I have tried the three variants I have seen similar results (well almost). Hence I am reviewing the three together but will be mentioning the differences too.
Let’s start with the packaging. The Pert shampoos comes in a green bottle with a flip open cap. The packaging is just almost similar to any other drugstore shampoos nothing special. The cap shuts tight hence travel-friendly. The shampoos has a very pleasant but light fragrance which just lingers for a few hours after washing your hair and then disappears. The Anti-dandruff smells a little different and has a coconutty fragrance which disappears even faster. Anti-dandruff shampoo is ivory colour while the other two are off white.
The consistency is quite thick, not very thick but still. The Anti-dandruff shampoo is a bit thicker than the other two. A very small amount is only required to create a great lather and yes lathers really well. Now considering the cleaning part, all the three cleans hair really well for any dirt and grime. But if you ask me about the anti-hairfall claim I don’t really think it does that but all I have to agree it did not weigh down my hair, any of them. Next the anti-dandruff shampoo is successful is getting rid of the flakes but if you stop using the shampoo, it comes back. The shampoo contains Zinc Pyrithone, which fights dandruff and dry scalp. The one for damaged hair is much easier on hair and does not leave the hair dry at all. The others also does not dry out my hair which is a great win for me as I have dry hair and most shampoos dry my hair. Even the anti-dandruff shampoo does not dry my hair and leaves my hair soft and beautiful. The Pert shampoo for damaged hair works even better if you have dry hair like me.
Normally I dilute and use my shampoos, these I have used with and without diluting and however these does not dry my hair. And I have tried with and without conditioner and even without conditioner my hair felt soft and less frizzy. But I strongly recommend using conditioners because it is very important to condition your hair . I asked my mom, my dad, my husband and my brother to use these shampoos and they felt the same about the shampoos. I have dry wavy hair, my mom has oily curls, my dad has soft straight hair, my husband has soft waves and my brother has dry curls. Am I making you confused? I hope not! However, the results were the same despite having different type of hairs.
What I don’t like about these shampoos is the ingredients, a whole lot of chemicals including sodium lauryl sulfate and parabens. But I must say there are some really god ingredients too.
In love with:
Travel-friendly packaging but I don’t like carrying bigger bottles.
Cleans the hair and scalp leaving your hair soft and beautiful.
Does not dry your hair.
Very affordable price.
Not in love with:
Contains SLS and parabens.
Honestly speaking I don’t expect shampoos to do miracles to my hair. According to me if a shampoo cleans my scalp and hair and removes the excess oil while not drying it, then I am happy with it. These does exactly that. But I still have a problem with the ingredients used. If you are planning to get an affordable shampoo, these might be a great choice. However, I will not repurchase these. I rate it 3.5/5.
Have you tried the Pert shampoos? Which is your favourite shampoo? Or which one are you using currently?
PR samples. However, all opinions are my own and unbiased.
If you ask me one makeup product I love stocking up (If I had to choose one) I would definitely say lipsticks. I just love buying them. And most probably you too. Who isn’t obsessed with liquid lipsticks these days! That’s the reason every other brand has its own liquid lipstick range now. Then how can Mac not have one right! Some time back Mac launched their liquid lipstick range. Today I am going to review Mac retro matte liquid color in the shade Carnivores. I actually don’t like the name Carnivores though. Let’s just jump into the review before I start my blah blahs.
Matte reigns supreme! Our fan-favourite M·A·C Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour is back with eight new saturated shades of on-trend muted and deep tones. Whichever one you choose, all promise a big splash of colour in a liquid-suede finish that lingers, virtually impossible to forget.
Price and availability
Price is 135 AED (20$) and available at all Mac stores and online.
My review of the Mac Retro Matte Liquid lip color
Mac Retro Matte Liquid lip color comes in a transparent packaging with a black cap. The black cap is exactly similar to the ones of their lipsticks. Simple but good packaging. The cap stays tight and hence throw it in your bag and take it wherever you like. Now if you ask me one thing which makes this liquid lipstick stand out from the rest, I would say is the applicator that comes along with it. The applicator is diamond shaped which allows the application much easier. Perfect to line and define the lips. The smaller tip works great at the corners of the lips while the center part makes easier for application at the center of the lips.
The Mac retro matte liquid lipstick is available in 15 shades from nudes to brighter ones. The shade I am going to talk about today is Carnivores and yes I remember I have already told you this. Carnivores is a vampy deep wine shade, blackened red as MAC calls it. Very beautiful shade. That kind of shade which just boosts your confidence level. It also looks great in photographs too.
This lipstick does not have any particular scent, which is a good thing. The lipstick glides on smoothly andbeautifully and gives a beautiful matte finish. The formula of the lipstick is the best part, soft and smooth. I also like the texture quite thick and mousse. The pigmentation is also brilliant. Just one swipe and you are left with an opaque layer. But some shades look slightly streaky or patchy but that can be taken care of. It sets really quick and is not tacky at all. When the lipstick sets the shade becomes a tad bit darker you have to keep that in mind when choosing the shades. The MAC retro matte liquid lipstick applies evenly but some shades might crumble a little bit while touching up. But carnivores does not. But honestly speaking there was no need for touch ups.
One thing most people hate about all liquid lipsticks is drying out the lips. This one is not that drying but not very moisturizing at the same time. It is very comfortable to wear though. Another good thing about this lipstick is that it does not transfer. The lasting power is another great thing. I had light meals, I had dinner and coffee but still, my lipstick remained intact! But that might be a little different for lighter shades. There is a little bit of fading from the center with heavy meals when you use lighter shades. But otherwise, lasts for 6-7 hours without any touch-ups. The MAC retro matte liquid lipstick is waterproof and the real difficulty comes when removing it especially darker shades.
MAC Retro Matte Liquid lip color swatches
In love with:
Opaque with just one swipe and great color payoff.
Feels comfortable, not that drying.
Sets really fast.
Amazing applicator, perfect for lining and defining the lips.
Really long lasting.
Smudge-proof and waterproof.
Not in love with:
Since it sets really quick you have to work really fast.
Removing is quite a task.
Layering is difficult for some shades as it might end up looking patchy.
Overall I think MAC retro matte liquid lipstick is a good one, not one of the best but still worth trying. If you get a shade that you love from this range then you must think no further and get it but if you have too many liquid lipsticks and no particular shade excites you then you can just skip this one! I love the shade Carnivores so I am really happy with it. I give it 3.5/5.
Have you used the MAC retro matte liquid lip color? Which shade is your favorite? What do you think about this particular shade?
If someone touches my hair or my head I get really angry. So if someone specifically my brother feels like teasing me he touches my head and I get furious. What I am saying is even when getting hair treatments you really got to be the best to impress me. I just recently have been to BdB blodrybar for an Argan deep conditioning ritual with massage. Blodrybar is one of those blow dry bars which promises in making every day a good hair day. When you don’t want or rather don’t have the time to get your hair styled, just pop in and get gorgeously styled hair by some super talented stylists.
Please read further to know my experience at the blodrybar and why you need a deep conditioning treatment for your hair.
Blodrybar, one of Dubai’s premium blow dry bars, is located in Motor city. Blodry bar is well known for their hair styling services including 5 typesof blowouts, 4 different up do’s, 9 types of braids in addition to cuts and colors. But not just that, they offer an extensive range of beautytreatments of all kinds makeup, threading, tinting, manicures, that is quite a great list of services.
I really wanted to try their hair styling service but since I am a hijabi I decided not to and instead chose a hair treatment. They offer a variety of hair treatments like Keratin, deep conditioning, olaplex etc. You can check out their website for more details.
BdB’s professional hair care range by Label M is SODIUM and SULFATE FREE. In addition, their range of heat protection sprays, serums, ionic hair dryers and ceramic straighteners ensure that the client leaves the salon with hair that not only looks good but also feels great.
The Blodry bar is situated on the first floor of Apex Atrium. From the outside I actually wondered if this will be worth it, to be honest. But I really love the interiors which is mainly, with white walls, white chairs, white lamps with a little bit of yellow here and there like some few yellow couches, some yellow lightings. A beautiful chandelier hangs on top of the desk which truly enhances the design statement of the blodrybar. Simple and sophisticated design.
My experience of Argan deep conditioning ritual
Step 1: Consultation with the stylist
One thing I liked about the blodrybar is that you don’t just go and look into the menu and come up with some random treatments/services which you are not quite sure about. The trained stylists there first analyze your hair and based on that (and also your preference) you both can select what service you want. My stylist was Aneela, and I highly highly recommend her. She is brilliant at what she does and her massaging skills are out of the world. Moreover, she is such a sweet person heart. Aneela recommended Argan deep conditioning treatment for my hair.
Step 2: Washing your hair
The next step is washing your hair with shampoo. Aneela did not use any conditioners after shampooing as she said the hair mask she was about to use will deeply condition my hair. You don’t have to worry about your clothes too as they will provide you with a wrap on dress.
Step 3: Mask
The most important step, the hair mask of course. Aneela used the Luxury ofroyalty by Crystal Argan oil nutrition infusing mask for the argan deep conditioning treatment. Luxury of royalty is a luxury line of hair products infused with argan oil. She added a few drops of the Argan oil hair and body serum to the mask. She then applied the hair mask on my hair quite liberally then wrapped a hot towel on top. She said the temperature from the warm towel is only required for the mask to penetrate into the hair. She also covered the towel with a wrap to lock in the heat for a bit longer.
While the mask was on, Aneela started her magic. Her neck and shoulder massage was very much needed for a tired mom. It was so good to have a great massage and she was definitely best in what she was doing.
Step 4: Washing off the mask
Final step is washing off the mask. After washing she blow dried my hair. Since I was going to wear my hijab after the treatment I asked her not to fully dry/style my hair. I just wanted to avoid the heat. If you prefer, your sylist will blowdry and set your hair. But Aneela also said it was great that you don’t use such heat tools immediately, it’s okay but best not to.
Aneela also gave a great head massage and as I mentioned earlier if you are not good I can even hit you! okay just kidding but I truly get angry. But the head massage was so good I immediately felt so relaxed and I really wanted to sleep. Now that’s really special because I am someone who sleeps really late.
Let’s find out what the hair mask claims
Claims of the hair mask
This argan oil based formula is infused with Vitamin E, Omega 3 and Omega 9 fatty acids. It helps repair the hair and deeply conditions to restore softness and shine, giving the hair long-lasting protection from drying out, leaving it extraordinarily healthy and easier to manage.
Claims of the serum
The composition of Argan, a most stable unique oil, endows it with many benefits which are scientifically proved today. Argan oil presents an exceptional percentage of essential fatty acids, one of which is linoleic acid (omega 6, the most intracellular oxygenation and thus favor the restoration of the hydrolipidic film by increasing the nutriment content of cutaneous cells and ensuring the indispensable moisturizing of the hair and skin. The essential fatty acids fight against drying and the loss of elasticity which encourage the appearance of wrinkles. The skin gains suppleness, elasticity, and tonicity and becomes more resistant. This beneficial action against cutaneous aging it reinforces by a very high content in Vitamin E (tocopherols) hydrating and healing, but especially one of the most powerful biological antioxyders which neutralizes the free radicals. Vitamin E protects the cell membranes against lipid oxidization and thus slows down the process of skin aging.
My hair is normally is dry and frizzy but not very damaged. Immediately after the treatment, I could see how soft and smooth my hair felt. Its one week now after I have done the treatment and my hair is still in a good condition so I am really impressed. My hair is naturally wavy which became more soft and manageable which is definitely a great win! If you have naturally straight hair then macadamia treatment will be a better right choice rather than Argan oil treatment.
I also got a beautiful manicure from the Bdb. My manicure was done by Leslie, another sweet girl. A wide variety of nail paints are also available from which you can choose the one you like.
Overall, I am really happy with the services I have tried from the Blodrybar. Even after a week, my otherwise dry and frizzy hair is deeply conditioned hence it feels soft andbeautiful. The staff there are very well mannered and are amazing at what they do. If you have a special occasion or just are need of a great hairstyle or you think your hair needs some special care, Blodrybar is definitely a great choice. I give it a 4.2/5.
If you would love to know more about their various services or how to reach them then please check out their website here They also have some really amazing promotions going on so now is definitely the right time.
The services were offered to me free of charge in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are completely my own and 100% honest.

If you have read my last post about the products I got from Kiko stores (my haul post here), you know I have mentioned about the invisible powder. So many of you have asked me to review the invisible powder and here I am with my review. I love such translucent powders for the fact that they do not give any extra coverage or in general, does not have any pigment in it. I know most of you prefer it these days! As the sole purpose of such transparent powders is to mattify and set your makeup. So let’s see how well the Kiko Milano invisible powder does its job.
Kiko Milano invisible powder product claims
Setting and mattifying face powder that banishes shiny areas from the skin.
It creates a sheer veil with a matte finish. The product adheres perfectly to the skin and bestows a delicate and lightweight “second-skin” effect upon the face. It is soft and velvety to the touch. The powder is easy to apply using the soft sponge that’s attached inside the lid.
Ideal for all skin types, especially shiny and/or oily skin. The powder is also perfect for quick touch-ups throughout the day. Non-drying for the skin.

$19 (69 AED) for 13.5g. Available at all Kiko stores and online
My take on the Kiko Milano Invisible powder
The packaging is something I love. It comes in a beautiful white jar with the name written in black. The ingredients and other details are written on the outer black box. Now, the first time I used this product I was running late for an event and I closed the lid and put it inside my bag and left. Later when I checked I found that half of the product was wasted as the lid came out and the powder spilled all over. This happens with most translucent powders. But no, it’s not the packaging, it’s me! The genius me failed to find out that the lid has a twist and lock mechanism, you just have to twist the lid to the lock position. Obviously, I didn’t. So you please take care of that! The lid stays tight and you can carry this powder wherever you go with ease, hence travel-friendly.
The lid has an attached sponge, which I agree, is convenient. But I prefer using a powder brush as the sponge that comes along with the powder picks too much powder than what is needed and you need only a small amount unless you are baking.
It has a fragrance which I could not understand what it was, not very pleasant but still okay. The fragrance disappears after a few minutes so that should not be an issue.
Talking about the texture, the powder is so finely milled and so soft. When applied on my skin, it does not look powdery at all. It mattifies my skin but still manages to give a velvety finish, true to its claims. I absolutely love how beautiful it makes my skin look and feel. It does not leave any white cast when photographed, the skin looks beautiful.
But…yes there is a but…the Kiko Milano invisible powder might leave your skin dry if you have dry skin, most probably if you have extremely dry skin. For oily and combination skin, this one works like a magic but for dry skin, I fear it will dry out your skin especially if you are baking. Since this is winter, my skin sometimes is so dry, but with proper moisturizing, this works fine. But if I use this for baking and especially if I have dry patches this sometimes exaggerates the flakiness. But otherwise, the powder works fine when baking too.
It stays for about 5-6 hours, then small traces of oil starts to peep out. This can be easily fixed by blotting, though. Touch ups are also very easy using this powder.
I love how soft my skin feels after applying this powder. The Kiko Milano invisible powder is paraben-free, non-comedogenic and dermatologically tested. So I am definitely loving this powder.
In love with:
Packaging is beautiful and travel-friendly.
Soft and finely milled powder.
Mattifies your skin and keeps your makeup in place. Gives a velvety finish.
Stays for about 5-6 hours.
Only a very small amount is required, hence will last long.
Paraben-free, non-comedogenic and dermatologically tested.
Not in love with:
Might not be great for dry skin as this powder might dry out your skin.
Might exaggerate dry patches on the skin.
Overall, this powder is great for oily and combination skin as it not just mattify your skin and keeps your makeup in place but also leaves your skin looking soft and velvety (that’s my favorite part!) But for beauties with dry skin, this might not be the right choice. I give it 4.5/5 and I highly recommend this to all the gorgeous ladies with oily/combination skin.
Have you tried the Kiko Milano invisible powder? If not, which is your favorite?
I haven’t done a makeup haul post after massive drugstore makeup haul post ! Since I am trying Kiko Milano for the first time and since they have a 30-50% sale at their outlets in Dubai, I thought I will do a makeup haul post and so that you can get a few items for yourself too! They also have up to 70% part sale online. So let’s check out what products I bought!
Heard so many great reviews about this powder. This is a transparent mattifying loose powder. I still have powders that I haven’t used yet but since there is nothing like too much makeup, I bought this.
Neo muse Eyeshadow palette

Bright duo baked eyeshadow
Which is a dual eyeshadow palette as you already have guessed (very clever :P). I got the shade 16 Pearly Mauve and metallic burgundy, two very beautiful shades. I can’t wait to play with it!
Double colour eyeliner
The double colour eyeliner from Kiko Milano is a limited edition product. I got no.126. Black and silver. These are so pigmented you just have to touch it! At the same time, I felt the tips are really soft so you have to take care while using it!
This is a volume effect lipstick. Available in 8 shades. I got one lipstick from the range. The shade I got is 05 (Rossetti). The first thing I have to comment on is the packaging. I mean the whole packaging of Kiko Milano is amazing but this one and the entire neo noir range is outstanding.
Enigma lip liner
Available in 8 different shades. The shade I got is 06.
Solar protect stick
Apart from makeup I also got this sunscreen stick. Face and body sunscreen which claims to be perfect for sensitive areas like scars, spots, around the eyes and around the lips. It has an spf 50. It is water resistant and protects against UVA/UVB/IR rays.

Hey, my gorgeous friends! How are you all doing? I have been really busy the past week as it was my Inaya’s 2nd birthday! I am happy and sad both about it and I am sure all my fellow mommies will understand what I am talking about! Anyways today I am here with a product review. I am reviewing a lipstick today, Inglot Matte lipstick in the shade 440.
The perfect opaque super matte lipstick for any occasion. Vitamin E, macadamia oil, and avocado oil moisturise and nourish the lips. Long lasting formula provides the ideal matte, smooth, even finish.
Price and availability
Price is 75AED ($10) for 4.5 gm and available at all Inglot outlets. Available in 40+ shades.
My review of the Ingot matte lipstick 440
If you know me you know I used to be someone who always goes for pink, peach and other nude lipsticks. It’s just recently that I started using more bold and brighter shades! I have used the Inglot matte lipsticks in many other shades before.I have even tried this purple shade but I didn’t buy it because I thought I will never use it! I wouldn’t have used it then but now things have changed and I have started using more bold, bright and deep colours. Hence I finally bought this deeper shade from Inglot Matte lipstick range.
The lipstick comes in a black outer box which has all the information written like the ingredient list, expiry and shade number which we will obviously throw away so no use. The actual lipstick has a classy black metal like and sturdy packaging with the brand name written on the lid. The shade number is written on a sticker at the bottom of the bullet. I actually don’t prefer shades to be identified as numbers and I believe you too don’t like it that way either. The only way to identify a particular shade is to open the top and check other than remembering the shade number. The cap shuts tight and hence is travel-friendly.
It contains ingredients like Castor oil, Macadamia oil and Avocado oil which helps to moisturise and nourish your lips.
The texture of this lipstick is matte, real matte! If you are in search for a true matte lipstick, then this one is for you. Since it’s matte, it has a slightlydrytexture too. Hence there is a chance for a bit of tugging. Exfoliating and moisturising of the lips is very important otherwise your lips will look dry and patchy. But this lipstick does not settle into fine lines.
The shade 440 which I am talking about today is a deep purple shade, which will bring that bold and quirky side of you outside. This shade will be flattering on most skin tones, especially for the dark skinned beauties. It has a fruity fragrance, not an overpowering fragrance but sweet and pleasant.
Just one swipe and you are left with an opaque colour. Can expect a little bit of dragging when applying but nothing that cannot be fixed. .If you want the shade to be more intense then you can do two or more swipes. Covers even pigmented lips. Does not transfer or bleed.
The staying power is also quite impressive. Stays for 5-6 hours with light meal and drinks. When you have heavy meals it fades from the centre. It fades leaving a beautiful stain behind. I cannot say it fades evenly but you can easily fix this by just swiping your fingers.
After 6 hours it fades leaving a beautiful stain behind. I cannot say it fades evenly but you can easily fix this by just evening out the colour with your fingers.
Swatches of Inglot matte lipstick #440
In love with
True matte formula.
The sturdy black casing which is travel-friendly.
Great colour pay-off.
Lasts for 5-6 hours and leaves a stain behind.
Contains some amazing ingredients like Castor oil, Macadamia oil and Avocado oil.
Does not transfer or bleed.
Not in love with
The slightly dry texture, which might leave your lips dry. If you have dry or flaky lips then this will accentuate it.
Exfoliating and moisturising are very important for a clean and smooth application.
I have used the Inglot matte lipstick in many other shades before and I really like it! I have to admit that if you don’t exfoliate and moisturise your lips properly this will end up looking patchy and dry. The shade#440 is no different. The stain this particular shade leaves behind is also something I love and is beautiful. I rate it 3.9/5. Despite the dry texture, I would still say this matte lipstick from Inglot is something you should at least try. The quality of this lipstick is brilliant.
Have you tried the Inglot matte lipstick? Which is your favourite shade? Which is your favourite matte lipstick?
Hey my beautiful friends, how are you doing today?
How is winter so far? Cold, colder, coldest? However it is, your skin might be the most suffering one. When people with oily skin can’t explain how dry their skins are God save the dry skinned ones. It is not funny, I know! But one thing you can do to your skin to save it from the trauma (big word? Maybe I will use the word pain?) is to moisturise. By moisturising, I mean really deeply moisturise. If you thought you need expensive and chemical-loaded creams for this purpose, then my friend, you have plenty of other options. Today I am going to talk about one such option which is super moisturising, great for you skin and you need only very few ingredients to make it which also means it is cheap and it is so much fun to make it too!
Aloe vera shea butter whipped DIY body butter
Today I have decided to talk less so let’s just jump to the ingredients used.
The first step is to melt the kinds of butter and oils. For this take a double boiler and add shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, avocado oil and Vitamin E oil in it.
Bring to a medium flame and stir constantly. When all the ingredients are melted remove it from the flame and let it cool a little bit then add the essential oils of your choice.
Next place this in the refrigerator and let the mixture cool, this step is very important, otherwise your body butter cannot be whipped properly. Keep it in the refrigerator for 1 hour. The right state is when the centre part is still soft but the side is hardened. That is when you know your body butter is ready to be whipped.
Next, add aloe vera juice and using a hand mixer, whip the mixture until is becomes soft and fluffy. Keep it in the refrigerator for another 10 minutes and viola! a very luxurious body butter is ready!
Store in a glass container.
Shelf life of the DIY body butter
This body butter stays for up to 8 weeks without refrigerating. You can also store it in the refrigerator if you like.
How to use DIY body butter
Apply a very small amount on your body. The body butter gets absorbed really fast into your skin leaving it soft and moisturised.
Some points to remember
You can skip the Aloe vera juice if you wish and just make a normal Shea butter DIY body butter. If you are using natural aloe vera plant then scoop out the flesh and run it in the blender and then add to your mixture.
If you don’t have a double boiler, place a glass bowl on top of a steel vessel filled with water and place it on the stove. Add the ingredients to the glass bowl.
Shea butter needs a little more time to melt than the other ingredients.
I have added lemon, lime and sweet orange essential oils if you are using these then remember that these oils are photosensitive hence it is not a good idea to use it during day time when out in the sun.
Since this DIY body butter contains a lot of oils and different kind of butter, you only need to apply a very small amount. Hence a little goes a long way.
Make sure the utensils used for whipping are dry.
I have used Aloe vera because it
Reduces stretch marks
Lighten blemishes and marks
Heals external wounds, helps with sunburns and soothes the skin.
The Aloe vera Shea butter whipped DIY body butter is a superiorly moisturising body butter which can be made very easily and is cheap. This is perfect for the winter season when your skin is extremely dry. You can also use this as a moisturising hair mask. Have you made body butter before? If you make this then do let me know.
