Have you heard of the Listerine-Apple cider vinegar foot soak? Do you wish to know if it works or not? Read further to find out my thoughts about it
We all wish for that baby-soft feet. But the skin on our feet is naturally dry (than the rest of the body). This is because the skin on our feet has no oil glands. The hundreds of sweat glands in our feet are helping to keep our it moisturized. Many of our daily habits dries out our feet even more and causes other problems like cracked heels.
reasons for dry feet
- Hot showers
- Skin ailments
- Low humidity
- Non-moisturizing soaps
Listerine-ACV foot soak
- 1cup Listerine (any kind)
- 1cup Apple cider vinegar.
- 2cups of warm water.
In a tub (large enough to cover up your feet) combine the three ingredients. Soak your feet for 10-20 minutes. You can add more warm water if it cools down to normal temperature (to keep your feet warm) Wipe off your feet with a towel or wash cloth to remove dead skin cells.
does this really work
Listerine contains Thymol which has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. Hence it helps in killing germs.
Apple cider vinegar helps in softening the skin. It is also useful in treating calluses, athletes foot etc to some extent.
So what the Listerine-ACV foot soak basically does is cleans, softens and also exfoliates slightly.
This foot soak alone is not enough to cure cracked heels. This just helps in the process. You have to exfoliate later using a towel or pumice stone. Follow this with your moisturizer. Never skip moisturizing. You can check out my post about moisturizing to get super soft feet and hands HERE.
Now this will help in making your feet soft, moisturized and clean. It is also one of the best methods to treat cracked heels. Do this once in a week for soft beautiful feet.
