If you use a separate cream for your eyes or not, is totally your choice. Some believe an eye cream is an essential part of our skincare routine. There are millions of eye-creams in the market to choose from. Today’s post as you can obviously tell from the title, is a review, a review of the only eye-cream I have used in my entire life and it is the It’s potent eye benefit cream from benefit cosmetics.
I have always loved benefit products when it comes to make-up, this is the only other cosmetic I have used from the brand. That’s not important, just saying.
What Benefit has to say

What I think of the benefit its potent eyecream
The most appealing thing of the its potent eye-cream is the packaging. What a packaging! The jar made of glass can be a con for some, but I think the cute little green pot with a faux cork screw lid is sophisticated as well as glamorous. The lid actually is made of plastic but gives a boost to the over-all packaging.
Coming to the consistency of the eye cream, when you see the cream inside the jar it looks so thick and gooey . Once you take some cream on your fingers and dab it under and around your eyes, it is then that you realize how light-weight the formula really is. It gets absorbed into the skin just like that. Even though the eye-cream absorbs really fast, I massage my eye area for a few more seconds, by using gentle patting motion for that extra something. Once the cream is applied there is an instant cooling or soothing effect, which I really love. It also instantly moisturizes my eye area with absolutely no greasiness and leaves behind no residues at all.
Remember to use very little product, as that is what is required and sometimes if you use too much eye cream, it can cause very mild irritations mainly due to the alcohol.
The its potent eye cream from benefit definitely has some big claims as reducing dark circles and puffiness under the eyes and the reason they say is the peptide (Di-peptide-2) which is said to improve lymphatic circulation which helps in reducing dark circles.
So the next question is if it stays to the claims (or no). First thing I don’t have very prominent dark circles, I get dark circles when I don’t sleep enough . Last week I had very little sleep, of some 2-3 hours so naturally my eyes felt so tired and I had dark circles and not that visible puffiness around my eyes. It’s potent has definitely helped in getting rid of the tired look, meaning, my eye area looked better and puffiness gone. When it comes to dark circles, I don’t think it has helped.
But to be honest, I think dark circles are due to different reasons and of different types. If dark circles are due to sleep-deprivation, then first thing you must do is sleep. It’s then you should consider using brightening creams or any treatment creams and that too according to the nature of your dark circles.
The eye cream has moisturized my eye-area well, but some people say it is not moisturizing enough for extremely dry or aging eyes, which I am not sure.
I think the price is on the higher side, since you get only a small jar of eye-cream for the price. But keeping in mind that you have to use only a dab of the product, this will last long. I have been using the it’s potent eye-cream for four months now and I don’t think I have to consider buying a new one for a few more weeks.
My overall assessment
In love with
- Gorgeous packaging.
- Hydrates my eye-area really well without leaving any greasiness behind.
- Light-weight formula, which absorbs really fast into the skin.
- Does help when your eyes are tired.
- A little goes a long way.
- Helps in getting rid of puffiness under your eyes.
Not in love with
- Price is on the higher side provided you get only a small quantity for the price.
- The ingredient list is scary, reminds me of my chemistry class. But has some amazing ingredients too.
- Might irritate your skin if overly used.
Overall, I think the it’s potent eye cream from benefit is a decent product, which does help in making your tired eyes look a bit better. It does not completely fade away dark circles as claimed though. What I like the most about this eye cream is that it absorbs really fast and keeps my eye area moisturized for a long time. The price definitely is a con for me.
So guys, do you use eye-creams? Which eye-cream are you using now? Which is your favorite one?
