If you check out the ingredient list of the semi-liquid thing called shampoo. that we stack on our hair during the process of washing it, you will probably find tons of chemicals and maybe a very few natural ingredients. Now that includes the herbal ones too. Even baby shampoos contain a lot of chemicals; sad but true. Are these shampoos really helping, in cleansing yes;  but what about all the damages these shampoos are causing.

Its high time now, lets ditch these chemical laden liquids which comes in beautiful bottles, and instead opt for natural stuff. I mean the real natural ones, not the ones claiming to be natural. In this process you can save some money too and the best part is these natural ones are great for your hair. So lets swap our shampoos with these natural ones( close enough).


Here is a list of few such natural shampoos which works best. You can always adjust the quantity based on your hair length and needs. Store them in an old shampoo bottles.

1. Baking soda shampoo (no poo)


  1. Baking soda
  2. Water

Mix them in the ratio of 1:3 and your done.

2. Aloe vera honey cleansing shampoo (little bit foam )


  1. 1/2 cups Aloe vera gel
  2. 4 tbsp honey
  3. 3-4 drops olive oil (for dry, frizzy hair)

Blend all the three ingredients in a blender and you have it!


3. Indian hibiscus shampoo(again little bit)


  1. 2 Hibiscus flower
  2. 3 tbsp Indian gooseberry powder.
  3. 2 tbsp honey.
  4. 2 tbsp lemon juice.

Blend all ingredients in a blender and its done.

Now if you do not prefer the no poo ones there are options for you too.

4. Coconut milk shampoo


  1. 1/2 cup coconut milk
  2. 1/2 cup liquid castille soap( get it from HERE)
  3. 25 drops of any essential oil of your choice.

Combine all the ingredients and viola!

5. Grapeseed oil shampoo


  1. 1/2 cup grapeseed oil (get it HERE)
  2. 1/4 cup liquid castille soap (get it HERE)
  3. 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  4. 3 tbsp apple juice
  5. 1/4 cup distilled water.

Combine all this in a blender and your shampoo is ready.

So that was my tried and tested best home made natural shampoos which works great for your hair. Try them out and say bye bye to your store bought ones.  Forget all your hair concerns.

NOTE:Remember to keep these natural shampoos for a slightly longer time for best results.
