Before we get started let’s learn why mangoes are great for your skin.
Benefits of mangoes on skin
Mangoes not only taste good it has some really amazing benefits too. Below I have listed a few benefits of mangoes on skin.
Mangoes contain high amounts of anti-oxidants and phytochemicals, which help to protect the body from the damage that can be caused by free radicals for younger looking skin.
Today I am up with a new review, a lipstick review oh yeah!another liquid lipstick. There are millions of liquid lipsticks out there each claiming to be the best. Please read further to know what I think about them.
Price and availability
$29 for the 6 piece set of 1.2ml, $17 for individual lipstick 7.2g. Available at The Balm stores, online, Sephora. Available in 18 shades.
My experience with The Balm Meet Matte Hughes
I own the six piece mini set which contains six shades (obviously :D) which are each 1.2ml miniature of the original which is 7.2g. The Balm Meet Matte Hughes comes in a transparent tube with a silver cap, that retro style packaging which all The Balm products are known for. The names are written at the bottom. The packaging is quite sturdy. The cap is a twist open type and stays tightly shut. Definitely a travel-friendly packaging.
The applicator is is okay, not something that’s as good as Mac Retro Matte but still okay. Application will not be an issue but the applicator picks too much product than what is required as it is quite fluffy. Speaking about the scent, The Balm Meet Matte Hughes has a peppermint scent, which I like, it fades very quickly though. The reason for this scent is because it contains peppermint oil which is used for plumping effect of lips. Due to this reason there is a very very mild tingling when you apply this lipstick which immediately goes.
I really love the formula of this lipstick, very thin, you hardly know it’s there but pigmented at the same time. Just one coat and you are left with an opaque layer with no patchiness at all. And that too only a very smallamount of product is required for a full coverage even for pigmented lips. Dries quickly and very comfortable to wear.
It claims to be moisturising and all but honestly speaking I have never found any liquid lipstick to be moisturising. But this one didn’t make my lips extra dry and that just makes me happy. I always exfoliate and moisturise my lips before applying any lipstick. Since this gives a matte finish, I wipe off any excess lip balm before applying. And yes, this gives a true matte finish.
The best part is yet to come. Even after eating and drinking the lipstick remained intact, unless I go for some oily foods. Some shades fade a little, but nothing noticeable. I think the problem comes when you decide to touch up. When you do so, for a few minutes your lips feel heavy and dry. But after some time that feeling goes away.
The staying power is also amazing. Most shades stays put for 6+ hours even without using lip liners. I have found that some shades might fade a little fast but 5+ hours are guaranteed. Fades gracefullyand not patchy at all so there will probably be no need for touch-ups.
The shades in my set are Charming, which is beautiful mauve, Sincere which is mauve itself but a little bit lighter than Charming, Committed a dusky pinkish nude, Doting which is an orangey coral,Dedicated which is Magenta and Loyal which is a bright true red.
Swatches of The Balm meet matte Hughes
In love with:
Cruelty free, Vegan.
Application easy to control.
Very opaque and not at all patchy.
No bleeding or smudging.
Comfortable to wear.
Does not make lips dry.
Does not stain my coffee mug.
Not in love with:
Some shades settle into the lines of the lips.
Touching up is not a good idea as it might leave your lips dry.
Some might not like the peppermint scent and the tingling sensation. But the tingling is very very mild.
Applicator holds a lot of product.
Overall I think The Balm Meet Matte Hughes is a really good liquid lipstick. The cons that I have mentioned are not a big issue at least for me as i am totally fine with the peppermint scent. Touching up will not be an issue since this lipstick stays all day. I wouldn’t say this is the best liquid lipstick available, but this is definitely one of the best. You can either get the miniature set or get the full size if you prefer just one shade. I rate it 4.5/5 and I think this is something you must try.
