L’OREAL INFALLIBLE LIP PAINT/MATTE

Hey lovelies, how are you all doing?

L’Oreal has been one of my favourite brands since I have started using makeup. Today I am going to review a lip product from the brand, the L’oreal Infallible lip paint/matte. This has been launched some few months back but found this just recently in UAE. I actually wanted to try a few shades but they had no testers for most of the shades so ended up with just one. If I will be purchasing more shades or not, read further to know more.

My review of the L’Oreal Infallible lip paint/matte

thebeautymascot/l oreal infalliable lip paint

The L’oreal Infallible lip paint comes in a convenient squeeze tube packaging. Easy to carry and travel friendly. Comes with a doe-foot applicator. Now, this applicator is nothing special, just like any other applicator. The applicator saturates well with the colour and applies smoothly,so not a bad thing at all. The formula is light-weight and long lasting. While purchasing I thought this was matte because obviously it says matte, but it isn’t really. This is slightly glossy. It has a slightly mousse like consistency. Starts off glossy but through wear dries down a bit. But does not dry down completely and for that reason definitely transfers onto everything.

thebeautymascot/l oreal infalliable lip paint

The L’Oreal infallible lip paint is really pigmented and glides on smooth and evenly on the lips. As it claims one stroke is just enough for an opaque finish. The lip paint does not settle into fine lines. As I mentioned earlier does not fully dry so your lips does not feel dry at all and is very comfortable on the lips. This stays on the lips for about 5 hours after which it fades but still leaves a stain behind. Now this five hours is when you decide not to eat, drink, kiss or whatever because this transfers. Touching up is easy so I wouldn’t mind that.

I wish more shade options were available. The only shade I am interested to try is peach pit, others I am not really interested even this shade that I own. The shade I own is called stripped brown. This shade is a brown. Stripped brown is from their latest Nudist collection, which are nude shades.

Swatches of the L’Oreal Infallible lip paint/matte

thebeautymascot/l oreal infalliable lip paint

thebeautymascot/l oreal lip paint
Glossy when applied, but dries a bit later

Overall

In love with:

  • The light-weight, super comfortable formula.
  • Feels hydrating.
  • Colour is rich and deep.
  • Comes with a doe foot applicator which i quite decent.
  • Wears pretty evenly.
  • Stays for about 5 hours and leaves a stain behind.
  • Doesn’t settle into fine lines.

Not in love with:

  • Transfers onto everything.
  • Only few shades are available.
  • Claims to be matte but is slightly glossy.

Overall I think the L’Oreal Infallible lip paint/matte is a good lipstick if you like any particular shades. Love how comfortable and hydrating it feels on the lips. Though claims to be matte, this is slightly glossy. I don’t mind that since I think I own too many mattes, but still the claim is not true. If i would repurchase or not, maybe I will get the shade peach pit, but no other shades seem to impress me. I think considering the price and the performance, I would say not bad at all. I rate it 3.5/5

Have you tried the L’Oreal Infallible lip paint/matte? What are your thoughts?

INGLOT AQUASTIC CREAM EYESHADOW REVIEW

Hey beautiful people! How are you guys doing?

If you remember my previous post which was the first impression and swatches post of the Inglot Aquastics cream eyeshadow and the diamond lip tints, I have already mentioned that this post is going to be a review of the cream eyeshadow. And here I am up with the review.

Product claims

Aquastic – water-based cream eye shadows will ensure a long lasting effect with a subtle or stronger shine depending on the application. Even a minimal amount provides strong coverage. Crease and smudge proof.

Launching in 10 shades, ranging from silvers and golds to rose, blue and green.

Even though long lasting, thanks to its water-based formulation, the product is easy to remove, even with plain water.

Price and Availability

$17 (89 AED) for 4.8g and available at all Inglot stores. Available in 10 shades. Check out the shades available and swatches here

My review of the Inglot Aquastic cream eyeshadow

thebeautymascot/inglot aquastic eyeshadow

The Inglot Aquastic cream eyeshadows comes in a transparent tube packaging. The packaging is so convenient, you can carry it wherever you want. Hence travel-friendly.Comes with an applicator you can use the applicator and place the product on your eyelid. But the right way is to place the eyeshadow on the back of your hand and then using a brush apply it to your eyelid. But remember to work fast as it might dry out if you take too much time. There will be ample time to use it and blend it but once it dries it wont move.

The consistency of the eyeshadow is somewhere between liquid and cream. Which makes it an awesome choice to double up as an eyeliner. Has a beautiful shimmer. The eyeshadow is really pigmented. You can also layer it and build up the colour and the shimmer, if you prefer. If you don’t want to use this as an eyeshadow, it also works as a great base under any other eyeshadows. Looks so beautiful, acting as a great base and add a little bit of shimmer. You can also use a sheer wash of colour and shimmer for a less dramatic look too. Has no fragrance.

I actually love how beautiful it looks on the eyelid. Perfect to add a pop of colour too. I own two shades,20 and 15. Shade 20 is a beautiful green shade, while 15 is a beautiful copper shade . This lasts for 8 hours. The shades 15 creases a bit after that and both the shades begin to fade. Otherwise these does not smudge or crease. One of the greatest disadvantage of these eyeshadows is that if you have so many wrinkles on your eyes, then this might make it look more obvious.

thebeautymascot/inglot aquastic cream eyeshadow review

Even though it feels so hard to remove, it really is so easy and that I love about it.This is not water-proof. So if you prefer water-proof makeup then you might not want it.This is water-based and removes easily with water, only by rubbing gently. The quantity is also great and I think there will not be any need for re-purchase any time soon.

thebeautymascot/inglot cream eyeshaow review

thebeautymascot/inglot aquastic cream eyeshadow
Eotd using shade 20

Summing up everything for those who hate to read

In love with:

  • Beautiful shades available.
  • Comes with an applicator.
  • Easy to carry and travel-friendly.
  • Does not crease or smudge for 8 hours.
  • Can be layered to build up colour and shimmer.
  • Easy to remove.
  • Quantity for the price.
  • Has no fragrance.
  • Can be used as an eyeliner or a great base.

Not in love with:

  • May accentuate the wrinkles on the eyes.

Overall, I think the Inglot Aquastic cream eyeshadow is not something that wows me but still I think it is nice to own a few shades, if you spot the shades you love. Definitely not a wrong choice, but not a must-have either. I give it 4/5 considering the quality of the product and I think it’s worth trying.

If you would love to see the swatches of all the 10 shades available for the Inglot Aquastic cream eyeshadows please check here.

INGLOT NEW LAUNCHES (AQUASTIC CREAM EYESHADOWS & DIAMOND LIP TINTS)

Hello gorgeous people! How are you all doing?

Inglot just recently launched two range of products in the UAE, one for eyes and other for lips. In this post I will be showing you the swatches of both of these. I am not getting into detailed reviews but will be talking about it which means this is kind of like a first impressions post, kind of not fully. But this post contains a  lot of pictures. My next post will be a review of the Aquastic cream eye shadow which will be a detailed one so for now enjoy the swatches.

thebeautymascot/inglot new launches

Inglot Aquastic cream eye shadow swatches

This cream eye shadow from Inglot comes in a transparent tube with an applicator. I don’t think it’s wise to use the applicator directly to apply the eye shadow. Instead, take the eye shadow using the applicator and place it on the back of your hand and and then use a brush, pick the product and apply. It is shimmery, blends well and lasts long.

Priced at $17 (89 AED) available at all Inglot stores. Available in 10 shades, ranging from silvers and golds, to rose, blue and green.

This diamond lip tint is almost similar to the Inglot HD lip tint matte, but this one has shimmer. Perfect if you are a fan of the metallic lip trend. Glides on smoothly, opaque finish and no streaks. Lasts long. Lips does not feel dry at all. If you sport your favourite shade just grab it! Worth every penny.

Priced at $18 (110AED) available at all inglot stores. 10 shades available.

HOW TO REMOVE TAN FROM SKIN? THE FACE MASK I SWEAR BY

Have a wedding or any other event to attend and wondering how to remove tan from skin at home? This is for you!

I believe every complexion be it fair or dark, everybody is beautiful. I am sure you believe in that too. But sun tan might be a little issue for some, especially if you are someone like me, you might look ghastly. Rather than getting that beautiful tan, I look ashy and I mean it. I sometimes need an anti-tan when I stay in the sun for a long time. In such situations, this is one face mask I believe in. So this post is about one of my most favourite anti-tan face masks which really works. The face mask has other amazing benefits too. I will be listing the benefits of the ingredients used at the end, so you have an idea.

thebeautymascot/how to remove tan from skin

Ingredients used

  • 1tbsp. Rice powder (Get it here)
  • 11/2 tbsp. Yogurt
  • 1tbsp. Tomato juice
  • 1tbsp Honey (Get it here )

Mix all the ingredients together to form a paste. You can add lime juice too if you wish. Apply this mask on your face and neck and leave it for 10-15 minutes. After that rinse it off. If you wish to exfoliate you can gently massage this mask while removing. You can also use this mask on your entire body.

You can make your rice flour by grinding rice at home. I have mentioned a rice flour that you can get online in case you are lazy or don’t want any mess. But I make rice flour at home and suggest you do the same.

skin brightening, skin lightening, face mask

Skin benefits on Rice powder

  • Soothes sunburn and prevents the skin from sun burn.
  • Reduces dark circles and puffy eyes.
  • Skin lightening.
  • Treat blemishes, fine lines and pimples.
  • Retain the elasticity and firmness of the skin to make you look fresh and young.

Skin benefits of Yogurt

  • Yogurt is a great moisturiser.
  • Helps in preventing and treating sun burn.
  • Fights acne.
  • Treats pigmentation and age spots.
  • Prevents premature ageing.

Skin benefits of Tomato juice

  • Getting rid of tanning.
  • Treating pigmentation.
  • Treating and preventing acne.
  • Shrinks open pores.
  • Regulates sebum secretion in oily skin.

Skin benefits of Honey

  • Great moisturiser.
  • Loaded with anti-ageing ingredients.
  • Helps in treating acne.
  • Soothes your skin.
  • Cleanses the pores.
  • Exfoliates.
  • Skin lightening.

So now you know how to remove tan from skin. This face mask does the job really well. You can also use this mask after you have been in the sun and don’t want to get tanned. This is also great for soothing sun burn. This is one of my favourite anti-tan DIY face mask.

BATH AND BODY WORKS COCO SHEA HONEY BATH AND SHOWER JELLY

Hello my dear friends! How are you all?

One thing everybody complains about me is that I take long hours inside the washroom . There were people actually asking what I did inside 😛 But that’s until my baby came and now I no longer have time for such long showers/baths. That’s a different story. But if you know me you know, if you are stressed I will say go and take a bath, if you are tired I would say go get a bath. Meaning bath is one ultimate solution for a lot of problems in my case.

Now, how can you blame me when there are such amazing bath products available in the market. But you know what, now you have something not only to make your bath experience awesome but if you are more of a shower kind of person, then to make your shower magical too. I am talking about the bath and body works CocoShea honey bath and shower jelly and you will know why.

thebeautymasot/bath and body works coco shea

Product claims

CocoShea blends two of nature’s most nourishing ingredients — vitamin-packed cocoa butter + rich, moisturizing shea butter — for the ultimate collection of skin-loving formulas. Fun and pampering, our ultra conditioning bath & shower jelly lathers into a creamy foam and conditions as it cleanses to leave skin looking and feeling soft and healthy.

Price and availability

$16.50 for 8oz. Available at all Bath and body works store.

My review of the CocoShea honey bath and shower jelly

thebeautymascot/bath and body works coco shea

The Bath and body works CocoShea honey bath and shower jelly is from the CocoShea collection which has just been launched. These products mainly contains Cocoa butter and Shea butter, and you might have already guessed these are definitely going to moisturise your skin. Comes in three variants- pure honey, coconut oil and cucumber. I actually thought of reviewing the shower jelly and body lotion together. But hey, this jelly is so special I decided to do a separate post!

And my sweethearts, its not gel its JELLY!! The formula is completely new for Bath and body works. I wouldn’t say the jelly thing is new , Lush has a jelly soap the name of which I forgot, not exactly the  same formula but similar.

This one comes in a honey jar kind of packaging which is transparent, apt for the honey based product. The scent of this is to die for, at least for me. Has a very sweet smell from which you can make out the fragrance of honey easily. So divine..mmm….The fragrance lasts for about 2-3 hours. If you are obsessed like me you can sniff your body even after that and there is still a faint fragrance and that faint fragrance lasts some time.

Coming back to the formula, the product is all bouncy and squishy. So much fun to play with. Take a small amount on your finger tips and massage onto damp skin. Lathers into a super soft foam. I don’t know if my description sounds boring to you but the actual procedure is so much fun. I actually thought I might need a lot of the product (considering the fancy texture and fun) but to my surprise you need only a very small amount. Oh yeah! It’s going to last quite some time. Yay!

Leaving aside all the fun and fanciness, let’s talk about the cleansing part. After all the main purpose of this is to clean right! Honestly speaking I thought it wouldn’t be good enough in terms of cleansing. But it proved me wrong again and scored ten on ten. Yes, does a wonderful job there too. If you ask me if it dries your skin, then my darlings remember I told you this whole range is about moisturising and nourishing the skin so no drying at all. Since this contains Shea butter, cocoa butter and honey, three perfect ingredients for moisturising your skin, it leaves your skin soft and supple.

One more thing, the first time I started using this I dropped it by mistake and I thought the jelly texture would be distorted (you know what happens to jelly right?) but to my surprise after a while it returned to the normal condition. Even if you shake vigorously or scoop out a lot of product to create a hole, the product ultimately returns back  just like it has been untouched. Now I like that too!

I am totally loving this!

Warning: Even though this is a brilliant product, there are certain issues. Firstly there are chances that you might take more time in the shower than you normally did. Second one is that your hubby/bro/friend or whoever stays with you will definitely steal it from you so hiding it will be a good idea!

thebeautymascot/bath and body works coco shea

thebeautymascot/bath and body works coco shea

thebeautymascot/bath and body works coco shea

Overall

In love with:

  • The jelly texture, which makes the experience an amazing one.
  • Cleans really well.
  • Non drying, leaves skin soft and supple.
  • Contains Cocoa butter and Shea butter for moisturising and nourishing the skin.
  • Lovely scent.
  • You need only a small amount.

Not in love with:

Nothing at all! Totally in love with it!

The bath and body works CocoShea honey bath and shower jelly is my current obsession! It has made my bath/shower experience awesome while cleansing my skin well and leaving it soft and touchable. I give it 5/5 and I would say go and get it! Highly recommended!

Have you used the CocoShea honey bath and shower jelly? What are your thoughts about the new range? Which is your favourite product from Bath and body works?

MAX FACTOR VOLUPTUOUS FALSE LASH EFFECT MASCARA

Hello my dear friends! How are you all doing?

Even if I don’t wear makeup, one product I always use is mascara. I very rarely use false lashes so the right mascara is very important for me even when I have a full face of makeup. Max factor is one brand which I think is so underrated. They have some really amazing products. So I was very excited to try the Max factor voluptuous false effect mascara. If you are equally interested in trying this mascara then please read further to know what I think about it.

thebeautymascot/max factor voluptuous false lash effect mascara

Product claims

Create wide-eyed impact with the Lash Uplift Brush, designed to capture and lift every lash for a Voluptuous False Lash Effect.

  • The helix shape enables a 360° application.
  • The wide fins grip and lift each lash, loading it with more formula.
  • The long bristles twist around the brush for more lash separation
  • The boost tip coats more of the tiny hard-to-reach lashes.

How to use

  • Push the fins deep into the roots.

  • Wiggle at the roots to coat and comb through lifting lashes to the tip.

  • Separate the lashes with the 360° tip.

Ingredients

Aqua, Acrylates Copolymer, Glyceryl Stearate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Propylene Glycol, Stearic Acid, Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Triethanolamine, Polyethylene, Propylene Carbonate, Lecithin, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Synthetic Wax, Oleic Acid, Tocopherol, Alcohol Denat, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Panthenol, Glycerin, Ethylparaben, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Propylparaben, Methylparaben, Xanthan Gum, Dimethicone, Trisodium EDTA, Glycine Soja Oil, Potassium Sorbate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Benzoic Acid, Ammonium Hydroxide, Silica Dimethicone Silylate, Glyceryl Oleate, Methylcellulose, Sulfuric Acid, Sorbic Acid [+/- CI 77499, CI 77491, CI 77492

My review of the Max factor voluptuous false lash effect mascara

thebeautymascot/max factor voluptuous false lash effect mascara

The mascara comes in a beautiful teal and gold packaging, teal body with gold accents, I love it. But what I really love about this mascara is the wand. The wand stands out from others mainly because of the shape of it. It has a helix shape which enables a 360 application. The brush is also a bit longer than your normal wand. Now since the wand is a bit longer, you need to be careful before getting used to using this.  Otherwise chances are that the wand might touch somewhere. But you easily get the hang of it so no worries.

thebeautymascot/max factor voluptuous false lash effect mascara

The colour of the mascara is deep black and that is another plus point.  I am using the shade black. One more shade is available brown black. After using this my lashes are separated and curled beautifully, gives them length and volume. But more than one coat is required for that dramatic fluttery lashes. Not really happy with just one coat. The wand makes it easier to reach even the hard to reach lashes so you can coat all your lashes.

The Max factor voluptuous false lash effect mascara lasts through out the day.  Doesn’t clump or smudge.

thebeautymascot/max factor voluptuous false lash effect mascara
My sleepy eyes without any mascara

thebautymascot/max factor voluptuous false lash effect mascara
One coat
thebeautymascot/max factor voluptuous false lash effect mascara
Two coats

Overall

In love with:

  • The wand which has a unique helix shape, perfect for covering all the lashes even the ones hard to reach.
  • Truly black colour.
  • No clumps.
  • Gives length and volume to lashes.
  • Lasted throughout the day.
  • Doesn’t smudge.

Not in love with:

  • One coat will not be enough.

So as you might have already guessed, the Max factor voluptuous false lash effect mascara is definitely one mascara that I love. I am happy how my lashes appear to have length and volume after using this and I would recommend this if you are interested in trying the mascara. I give it 4.5/5.

Have you tried the Max factor voluptuous mascara? Which is your current favourite mascara?

What I think about the soap and glory no clogs allowed

thebeautymascot/soap and glory no clogs allowed

The Soap and Glory no clogs allowed comes in a tube packaging. Nothing special, white tube with some green some black and some pink here and there. Not a very fancy one but still okay. You have to squeeze to get the product out (obviously you know that)

It has a very refreshing fragrance. Something like a citrusy fragrance. The smell lasts as long as the mask is on, but not bothersome, atleast not for me.

The mask is white in color which is supposed to turn blue when you scrub. Always remember to shake the tube really well before applying the mask otherwise the product will separate and the mask will come out gooey. Otherwise the consistency of the mask is perfect for application.

Method of applying is also simple just like you would do with any face masks, on a clean and dry face, massage a grape-sized dab of the product. Then wet your hands and scrub gently and uniformly. Leave it for 5 minutes and then wipe it off with a warm, wet washcloth. You begin to feel the heat immediately after applying which goes away after a few seconds. Not uncomfortably hot but trust me, it feels ah-mazing! I wish the sensation lasted long though.

The product claims to turn blue when you scrub and I was so excited about it. But honestly speaking it didn’t turn blue. Not that it hasn’t turned blue at all but a very very slight change. One which can hardly be noticed. Sometimes there are just certain blue spots here and there. Anywho I was expecting a magical color change which never happened. But atleast the heating sensation was magical. The word magical might be an exaggeration, so I am not using magical but yes a very nice experience.

The soap and glory no clogs allowed contains pumice which is a very powerful exfoliant, great for removing dead skin. Another key ingredient is Salicylic acid which is excellent for treating pimples, fighting acne and fading any scars and blemishes, reducing skin inflammations, opening clogged pores and shrinking large pores, promotes anti-ageing and reduces oily skin. Also contains grape seed oil which helps in treating acne and pimples, great for skin tightening and prevents skin ageing.

I am quite impressed with the results too. My skin feels so smooth and soft after using this mask. My face feels like it has been deeply cleansed and remains oil free for the whole day. After you have removed the mask there is a cooling sensation left behind which stays for some time and is quite refreshing. On continuous use I did notice a change in my blackheads and my skin felt better.

Overall

In love with:

  • The self heating feels so good. Love the feeling when it’s on and when I take it off, very refreshing.
  • Skin feels soft, smooth and clean.
  • Controls oil.
  • Skin improves on continuous usage.
  • Refreshing fragrance.
  • Skin feels refreshed.

Not in love with:

  • Does not turn blue as claimed, might not be an issue for most of you.

Overall I think the Soap and Glory no clogs allowed super self heating deep pore detox mask does a wonderful job in deep cleansing my face leaving it smooth and soft. This mask also works great as a facial scrub. I love how my skin feels after using this and now I have been using this for more than a month (once every week) and my skin has improved. I really like this face mask and I give it 4.6/5 and I recommend this mask for all beauties with oily/combination skin.

Have you tried the Soap and glory no clogs allowed super self heating deep pore detox mask? Which face mask is your current favourite?

thebeautymascot/the balm meet matte hughes

I own the six piece mini set which contains six shades (obviously :D) which are each 1.2ml miniature of the original which is 7.2g. The Balm Meet Matte Hughes comes in a transparent tube with a silver cap, that retro style packaging which all The Balm products are known for. The names are written at the bottom. The packaging is quite sturdy. The cap is a twist open type and stays tightly shut. Definitely a travel-friendly packaging.

The applicator is is okay, not something that’s as good as Mac Retro Matte but still okay. Application will not be an issue but the applicator picks too much product than what is required as it is quite fluffy. Speaking about the scent, The Balm Meet Matte Hughes has a peppermint scent, which I like, it fades very quickly though. The reason for this scent is because it contains peppermint oil which is used for plumping effect of lips. Due to this reason there is a very very mild tingling when you apply this lipstick which immediately goes.

I really love the formula of this lipstick, very thin, you hardly know it’s there but pigmented at the same time. Just one coat and you are left with an opaque layer with no patchiness at all. And that too only a very small amount of product is required for a full coverage even for pigmented lips. Dries quickly and very comfortable to wear.

It claims to be moisturising and all but honestly speaking I have never found any liquid lipstick to be moisturising. But this one didn’t make my lips extra dry and that just makes me happy. I always exfoliate and moisturise my lips before applying any lipstick. Since this gives a matte finish, I wipe off any excess lip balm before applying. And yes, this gives a true matte finish.

The best part is yet to come. Even after eating and drinking the lipstick remained intact, unless I go for some oily foods. Some shades fade a little, but nothing noticeable. I think the problem comes when you decide to touch up. When you do so, for a few minutes your lips feel heavy and dry. But after some time that feeling goes away.

The staying power is also amazing. Most shades stays put for 6+ hours even without using lip liners. I have found that some shades might fade a little fast but 5+ hours are guaranteed. Fades gracefully and not patchy at all so there will probably be no need for touch-ups.

The shades in my set are Charming, which is beautiful mauve, Sincere which is mauve itself but a little bit lighter than Charming, Committed a dusky pinkish nude, Doting which is an orangey coral, Dedicated which is Magenta and Loyal which is a bright true red.

Final verdict

In love with:

  • Cruelty free, Vegan.
  • Travel-friendly packaging.
  • Application easy to control.
  • Very opaque and not at all patchy.
  • No bleeding or smudging.
  • Comfortable to wear.
  • Does not make lips dry.
  • Matte finish.
  • Does not stain my coffee mug.
  • Fades gracefully.

Not in love with:

  • Some shades settle into the lines of the lips.
  • Touching up is not a good idea as it might leave your lips dry.
  • Some might not like the peppermint scent and the tingling sensation. But the tingling is very very mild.
  • Applicator holds a lot of product.

Overall I think The Balm Meet Matte Hughes is a really good liquid lipstick. The cons that I have mentioned are not a big issue at least for me as i am totally fine with the peppermint scent. Touching up will not be an issue since this lipstick stays all day. I wouldn’t say this is the best liquid lipstick available, but this is definitely one of the best. You can either get the miniature set or get the full size if you prefer just one shade. I rate it 4.5/5 and I think this is something you must try.

Have you used the Balm Meet Matte Hughes? Which is your favourite shade?

I take care when using products on my hair too. Today I am up with a review and I am reviewing a new range of shampoos inspired by natural Arab remedies and I am talking about Pert shampoos. I have got the chance to review three out of the 8 available. So let’s get started with the review.

Today I am going to review

  • Anti-dandruff with coconut and lime
  • Anti- hair fall with ginger extracts
  • For damaged hair with chamomile extracts

My review of the Pert shampoos

thebeautymascot/pert shampoo review

Even though I have tried the three variants I have seen similar results (well almost). Hence I am reviewing the three together but will be mentioning the differences too.

Let’s start with the packaging. The Pert shampoos comes in a green bottle with a flip open cap. The packaging is just almost similar to any other drugstore shampoos nothing special. The cap shuts tight hence travel-friendly. The shampoos has a very pleasant but light fragrance which just lingers for a few hours after washing your hair and then disappears. The Anti-dandruff smells a little different and has a coconutty fragrance which disappears even faster. Anti-dandruff shampoo is ivory colour while the other two are off white.

The consistency is quite thick, not very thick but still. The Anti-dandruff shampoo is a bit thicker than the other two. A very small amount is only required to create a great lather and yes lathers really well. Now considering the cleaning part, all the three cleans hair really well for any dirt and grime. But if you ask me about the anti-hairfall claim I don’t really think it does that but all I have to agree it did not weigh down my hair, any of them. Next the anti-dandruff shampoo is successful is getting rid of the flakes but if you stop using the shampoo, it comes back. The shampoo contains Zinc Pyrithone, which fights dandruff and dry scalp. The one for damaged hair is much easier on hair and does not leave the hair dry at all. The others also does not dry out my hair which is a great win for me as I have dry hair and most shampoos dry my hair. Even the anti-dandruff shampoo does not dry my hair and leaves my hair soft and beautiful. The Pert shampoo for damaged hair works even better if you have dry hair like me.

Normally I dilute and use my shampoos, these I have used with and without diluting and however these does not dry my hair. And I have tried with and without conditioner and even without conditioner my hair felt soft and less frizzy. But I strongly recommend using conditioners because it is very important to condition your hair . I asked my mom, my dad, my husband and my brother to use these shampoos and they felt the same about the shampoos. I have dry wavy hair, my mom has oily curls, my dad has soft straight hair, my husband has soft waves and my brother has dry curls. Am I making you confused? I hope not! However, the results were the same despite having different type of hairs.

What I don’t like about these shampoos is the ingredients, a whole lot of chemicals including sodium lauryl sulfate and parabens. But I must say there are some really god ingredients too.

Final verdict

In love with:

  • Travel-friendly packaging but I don’t like carrying bigger bottles.
  • Pleasant fragrance
  • Cleans the hair and scalp leaving your hair soft and beautiful.
  • Does not dry your hair.
  • Very affordable price.

Not in love with:

  • Contains SLS and parabens.

Honestly speaking I don’t expect shampoos to do miracles to my hair. According to me if a shampoo cleans my scalp and hair and removes the excess oil while not drying it, then I am happy with it. These does exactly that. But I still have a problem with the ingredients used. If you are planning to get an affordable shampoo, these might be a great choice. However, I will not repurchase these. I rate it 3.5/5.

Have you tried the Pert shampoos? Which is your favourite shampoo? Or which one are you using currently?
